Bar was great, the room not so great. Smelling of old cigarettes and as someone else has said the beds are horrendous..came back into room at end of the night to the smell of a blocked toilet, shut the window as i thought it might have been outside, not so...over rated for 77 quid
A fine pub for a few beers before a performance at the Leeds Grand Theatre across the street. Cask ales on and a few decent lagers. That's all I know, haven't stayed over so can't comment on that. Staff were friendly and it wasn't too busy when I was in.
Went in before going to the grand. It is well suited for the Grand lots of memoranilia of whats been on at the grand. Had a few drinks and popped in after our show at thr grand theatre. Service was good. All in all would recommend a visit
The Wrens unused to be a regular haunt however I haven’t been in for a few years until last night and what a disappointment it was. The staff were particularly rude and unpleasant. Their lack of social skills was only matched by their complete lack of knowledge regarding the drinks that were available. Visiting the Wrens was a particularly unpleasant experience where I wasn’t made to feel welcome. I will certainly not be visiting again.
Great place to stay if you want somewhere cheap and close to the city centre. But if you want a nice smelling and clean room with decent amenities not my first choice. Hairs on the sheets and marks that maybe fresh or not I'm not sure. The sounds from the local bar and metal stairs that are wet as the access into and out of the building not the safest.
